im debating getting a nokia 2128i phone and ive read a few places about how you can buy if from a place like best buy as a pay as you go phone for around $50 and then activate it into my existing plan (my old phone bit the dust). it this true? does anyone know anything more about it like how i would go about activating it?

1) get the phone

2) call verizon customer service; tell them you need to do an ESN switch so you can use a different phone

3) they will put the serial number of the 2125i u bought in and it will work with your number. you might have to do some other programming but they may tell you how to do it. thats as far as I know. Someone else might be able to chime in on it too.

You can buy a Nokia 2128i(the Pre-Pay INPULSE) one at Best Buy and have it activated on your regular Verizon account. If you want to do this, DON'T activate the phone on prepay first, otherwise you might have a problem.
Buy the phone, then call CS and have them switch the ESN, turn on the Nokia and dial *228, option 1 and you are set.

Ah... GSM is so much easier. Why didn't they impliment the SIM card idea into CDMA when they created it?
