I will be heading out of Dallas Texas to Brooklyn Michigan on tuesday of next week. So, my question is, how is Alltels service up in that area?

I don't have any first had experience, but Alltel is a pretty solid carrier here in Michigan. A lot of people like them. And judging by Verizon's online coverage map of that area, only Alltel and Sprint provide CDMA coverage in that area. (Verizon is just off to the north.) I'm going to just go out on a limb and say you'll have great service.
