Default FCC Auction 58

Does anyone have any idea where the 1.9 spectrum up for auction is specifically located from the Nexwave breakup? I know Verizon, Cingular and some other big name players or looking at bidding (amongst others). I was more curious to know if any of this spectrum is located in Iowa.

I don't think so. I will have to look again.
Most of Iowa's PCS BTA licenses were bought by Iowa Wireless, SunCom (Cingular), US Cellular, Cellcom (MidWest Wireless), and some small companies. I don't think Nextwave got any licenses in Iowa or any company returned any in the state of Iowa. T-Mobile(A) and Sprint(B) got the major trading licenses (MTA).

THe FCC page doesn't show where the spectrum is located. I see Midwest Wireless is listed as a bidder in the auction, I am curious to know where they are looking. It only makes sense that they would be looking for area adjacent to their own. I don't see them buying spectrum somewhere that is not contiguous to their own market.

clicking on the bidding and results link on the link above will take you here:

http://auctionbidding.fcc.gov/bidding/home.htm

Here's a direck link to all of the results: (it may only work while the auction is ongoing

http://auctionbidding.fcc.gov/biddin...re_results.htm

If that doesn't work, follow below:

which should be good as the auction progresses. Click on 'round results' or go here:

http://auctionbidding.fcc.gov/bidding/results.htm

and then click on 'results explorer' to search.

hmmm the links I posted go to a different place now. Maybe that's because the auction s are done for the night. The auction will run until it is done and there are no more bidders. Probably a couple days or a week.

try this link

http://wireless.fcc.gov/auctions/def..._summary&id=58

The reports should have some info - the summaries look to be OK too.

Is there a map somewhere showing all of the licenses?

Here is the BTA map.
There are no licenses that were returned for Iowa.
What name is Midwest Wireless is under??
There are some licenses in Minnesota they might want.

If Cellcom (NSIGHTTEL WIRELESS, LLC) found something they like I know Midwest Wireless can also.

No that is not 100% true.
Cellcom divested all cellular markets to MidWest Wireless in Iowa. I am not for sure about PCS since the license says has there name on it and neither side will tell me anything.
Alltel bought part of the network in Wisconsin, but not all of it.
Cellcom still operates in Green Bay and a few other rural markets and that is it for now. here is a map

Reading the RCR new last week it labled Midwest Wireless as "Switch 2000". It doesn't look like they have made any high bids as of yet. I'm really not sure what they would be interested in MN. I don't see they bidding for any Mpls-St. Paul spectrum for sure. Maybe Brainerd or North Dakota areas?
