You might be able to get out of contract. Alltel was letting former ATT customers in OKC out of their contracts if they so desired. I'm not sure if Unicel is going to be this friendly.

I hope you can get out of that contract, unless you are satisfied with your coverage under now Unicel. But its no secret the Midwest Wireless network is far better than the CellularOne/Unicel network. Most customers of Midwest are told to stay w/Midwest and they will become Alltel customers later this Summer of '07. Then they will be able to get all the plans/phones Alltel offers.

You could be in a little trouble and your only way out maybe to buy out the contract!?!

Sorry!

I was talking shop with one of the retail reps at our local cellular one store, because my sister was with alltel in the divested areas, and to get out of agreement, you will have to pay the ETF. Since RCC is CDMA based as well, you can try, but I do not beleive that you will be able to get out of your contract. Sorry about that. My sister is contemplating of just paying the ETF later this summer to come back to alltel. Good Luck!

I am in the same situation. I started a new contract with Alltel Dec 06, but just found many of the customers are now in a holding place until Unicel looks at their usage, plans and how much roaming each customer does and determines if they will keep the customer or shut them off. If Unicel has some good roaming partners, staying with them may be ok, but if not, things will get interesting. Does anyone know Unicels primary roaming partners or their PRL list for roaming. I know the PRL is 702. I have no problem if I can rig a Unicel Motorola V710 or Nokia 2865i to select A-side or B-side carrier, like I am able to do with my Alltel Nokia 2865i. It works great when in an area with poor signal; enable NAM 2(which has PRL of 0), disable Nam 1 and select either A-side or B-side! You think Unicel phones will have this ability, of course by going into settings? Thanks!!
