Alright, I am about fed up with Simplefreedom. It had been working great until recently, when I began having problems. First, I would have to do two-stage dialing in my local area. Then, half the time I would hear NOTHING when I called out....no dial tone, no message for two stage dialing...nothing. But the phone claimed I was connected. And yes, the volume was all the way up. I could not call out for the past couple days. I tried calling the home phone on the cell, but it did not work. It has reverted back to two-stage dialing, but now a new problem has occurred. I can't receive calls now. When people try to call, they get the message that the number "cannot accept calls at this time." What the hell does that mean? I have enough minutes, am paid up on them, and they do not expire for a year. I called technical support, and they frankly were no help. Does this sound like a problem with my phone, or is it a NETWORK issue? I haven't dropped the phone or anything that should cause it to stop working, and the fact that it occassionally can still dial out makes me think the network around here is screwy. Which is frankly infuriating me. This is not acceptable, and I am considering dropping Simple Freedom because of it. If you have any ideas on what could be causing the problem, I would appreciate it. I have a Kyocera SoHo. Thanks. Roy |

Since you mention troubles receiving calls and calling your home, please also supply most of those phone numbers (first seven of ten digits, like 987-654-3xxx) for home and your cell phone. That helps identify the wired and wireless service providers most exactly. I, and others, may not be able to explain those troubles. We may learn enough to help you complain effectively. Okay? COtech

Sounds like to me it may be a phone issue. I just got simplefreedom on Saturday..so far been happy with it. I'm in NW ohio. Only one place did I have to do a two stage dialing..that was up by the lake. But it could've been because it was my first call. Perhaps you can try another phone or maybe call CS back and talk to a different rep. Hope these are some ideas of interest to help you. Now my question is...on Simplefreedom..can you use any alltel phone or does it have to be the cheap Nokias that are on the website? Just wondering..just wanting to see if I could maybe get a better phone..

From what I hear the smart phones have problems on prepay. Has something to do with the PRL's.

[QUOTE=mframe] Although that is true of U Prepaid, Simple Freedom will only accept the ESNs of the Simple Freedom-branded phones. [QUOTE] Sorry about that. Your right mframe. With the U prepaid you can, but with the Simple Freedom you can't. I just did not think before I posted.
