I am on the Verizon America's Choice plan. Live in Detroit. Usually, when I am in Mt Pleasant, my extended network is Alltel, in analog mode. Of course, that $ucks the life out of your battery. Yesterday, I changed my network setting to "digital only" and after a second of "searching" I got a strong digital signal that I used the rest of the day. Can anyone tell me who that digital provider probably was? I dialed *611 and other numbers as well but they never ID'd. It would just say error 333 1 or 333 7. Anyone from that area?

It was probably Sprint. They have towers set up all over Mt. Pleasant. Particularly, above Rose Arena.

Was it an extended network signal or roaming? If it was 'extended network' you were picking up on an Alltel digital tower. If it was 'roaming' it was definitely sprint. No other possibilities in that area. |

It was extended network. If you are correct, it is good to see that Alltel finally has their digital act together. They have been analog only up here for a good little while. I believe it had to do with their conversion from TDMA to CDMA. Is Sprint not a preferred roaming partner up here?

After further review it could have been Sprint. Extended network partners in Michigan: Alltel Sprint Roaming partners in Michigan: RFB Cellular Thumb Cellular Sorry for the misinformation. |

I believe that the carrier you might have been using is Cellular One of Northeast Michigan... I believe they are the A carrier while Alltel is the B carrier. (RFB Cellular), as previously mentioned.
