Hi I wanted to get a motorola V120t cell phone from cingular, it is a prepaid service and its very cheap. But when I found out that it operates on TDMA i got worried. Does that mean that I can't talk to my friends who have GSM cell phones? I heard that cingular wants to upgrade their technology to GSM in KY, so does that mean that in march I won't be able to use my phone any more? Can they have a GSM and TDMA technogoly at one time in KY? Thank You |

lol, dont worry. if you have TDMA, CDMA, iDEN, or GSM they can still call eachother as well as Landline phones.

if you have cingular tdma, you can send them to cingular gsm and cdma users. but you might not be able to send them to people on att, or verizon. |

Yes you can send text msgs from a Cingular phone to other carriers. I know you can send txt msgs to AT&T and T-Mobile.

What you can't do is roam. A cingular prepaid phone will not work if you go out of your home area. That's why I took mine back. (Louisville area) |

Rumor has it that virgin mobile prepaid has unlimited txt msging - and being on the sprint ntwk, you can roam - at least near major cities and highways - lol. I think vm's rates are comparable to cingular, depending on your usage. |
