Millions in Network Enhancement Initiatives Pay Off in Indiana Wednesday October 13, 11:58 am ET Cingular Wireless Adds 11 New Cell Sites to Network; 5 Indiana Counties to Benefit INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Cingular Wireless announced that it will activate a total of 51 new cell sites by year's end in Indiana, significantly enhancing service for residents and travelers throughout the area. These enhancements are part of a one-year $35 million network investment in Indiana that will further enhance Cingular's GSM network in the region thereby improving call quality, adding capacity and extending the network's reach. "Cingular continues to go beyond the big cities and Interstates to provide our customers with an advanced network that gives them the ability to make a call when they want and where they want." said Rick Thompson, Director of Sales for Cingular Wireless - Indiana. "Cingular is committed to making its great network even better with ongoing network enhancements that allow us to grow and expand with the communities we serve." The sites activated so far this year enhance service in the following areas: - Marion County - Enhanced coverage along I-70 and Shadeland Avenue; enhanced coverage along West 86th street and Ditch Road; majorly enhanced coverage to U.S. 67 and the town of Camby; enhanced coverage to east 54th street, College Avenue and Broadripple Village. - Boone County - Enhanced coverage along Route 421 and the town of Rosston; enhanced coverage to areas along I-865; enhanced coverage along I-465. - Morgan County - Enhanced coverage along Highway 37 to south of Martinsville. - Delaware County - Enhanced coverage along Interstate 69 and State Road 332 to Muncie University. - Lawrence County - Enhanced coverage to the town of Huron; enhanced coverage along U.S. 50 and State Road 60.
