Good Luck, I went into a store the other day asking some questions about it. The lady wouldn't even listen to my questions. I was asking her when they would get gsm because I heard it was coming soon. I was also asking about any other ericsson phones they had because I already had the t60 and all of the accessories. The moronic lady then proceeds to tell me all about this new t60 they had!!!!!!!!! By that time I just wanted to get out of there. I humored the rest of her pitch and moved on. I really don't think that getting cingular gsm is a good idea. I think they are going to have a lot of problems with the transition and they know it. That is why they don't push it very hard. Gsm on cingular or att in this area doesn't have many phones where you can have cdma/tdma as well. I personally am waiting until more options are available with the phone selections and their coverage area is increased. |

From what I understand, they are going to do an overlay, not replace TDMA completely. That is good. Just look at AT&T here - they are GSM only and have pathetic coverage. My wife has them and regrets it. In other markets where AT&T has done a GSM overlay, they have both GSM and TDMA, which is provides good coverage. I here that the Nokia 6340 and 6340i GAIT (GSM/TDMA/Analog) phones are pretty good when the activations go right. The T62U is supposed to be coming out as well. It will be interesting to see what happens, but I look forward to the additional coverage. Generally speaking, GSM offers more services and better pricing, too, but....ya never know! Mike |
