He was making a call in a building downtown Chicago and he has a V60 with AT&T. He was getting bad service at first and then he was suddenly on a Verizon network...can't remeber whether it said it on the screen or if he got some kind of announcement when he made a call...how does that work. Oh, and could CDMA phone roam onto TDMA networks too?

He flipped over to the analog carrier, which happened to be Verizon. It is technologically impossible for his phone to roam on a CDMA network (or any TDMA and/or GSM phone to roam on CDMA and vice versa).

He said that his phone was definitely on digital...he had a full signal, the call was completely clear, and he had a "D" box at the top of the screen.

Well, there has to be some other explanation, because for a TDMA phone to pick up CDMA is like an AM radio picking up an FM station...it just can't happen. Didn't Verizon just buyout a TDMA carrier somewhere and is converting it to CDMA?

Its possible that Verizon has some Tdma, and CDMA in that area if they did a conversion.

it makes sense that verizon analog will be picked up by the analoh side of the tdma fon.
if you had an analog phone and it broke and you took that fone and a nother analog fone and had that new one programmed onto your acct it will rok. even if that analog phone is fromanother analog carrier.
i don't think that is entirley impossible to go off of vrizon towers while on analog
