I was wondering if anyone knows about the new agreement between Verizon and U.S. Cell in WI. Will it increase digital coverage with Verizon as U.S. Cell changes their network over to CDMA? I have Verizon AC right now and I am not getting the Sprint extended Coverage like I did before around Whitewater/Ft, Atkinson area. When I enter these areas I an in analog now. Also, it would be nice to get caller ID and Voicemail while on the extended network.

USCC will be turning on the CDMA "D" switch on the 4th of November. When that happens you will have a greatly increased area of digital coverage. Caller ID currently works on the analog side of USCC when I am roaming and I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to send and receive text messages and have voice mail indicators etc. I do not know about Verizon's internet access and whether that will work though as USCC doesn't have this feature now under their TDMA service. I have been told that they will eventually have internet access but whether this will work with Verizon is anybody's guess. I maintain both services and I a inside track on the USCC side.

i was at a verizon wireless store today and the coverage for verizon in wisconsin as expanded a lot. verizon customers basically have the same coverage as us cellular customers which is the whole southern half of wisconsin. the service rep at the store said to just dial *228 to update your roaming list and you should get the new coverage. to view the new coverage i would just go to www.verizonwireless.com and check out the wisconsin map.

One would think VZW could get a deal with Cellcom (which is also CDMA) as well, but NO... -SC

Historically speaking, Text Messaging does not work between VZW and USCC... I have US Cellular in TN and my text messaging does not work when I roam on Verizon's network... I've also heard from many Verizon customers that their text messaging doesn't work when they roam on another CDMA network. I know other features like Caller ID, Voicemail indicator and such work, though.
