VoiceStream (T-Mobile) may not be the best option for you considering GSM coverage in the US is limited. If you stick mostly to major cities and the interstates you should be ok but in rural areas you might have no signal at all. Take a look at this map and determine if its enough coverage for you or not. GSM National Coverage |

Unfortunate that they may not have great coverage in the areas he travels to, as Voicestream is outstanding from every report I've read in the Cincy area. I've travelled up there a little bit and didn't have any issues at all whie roaming on their system. Call clarity is outstanding, of course. Verizon may be your best bet.. I would say AT&T, but they're offered through Cincnnati Bell, which you already have. Check the GSM map and if they have your desired areas covered outside Cincy, go for it, as you probably won't find a better provider in Cincinnati, from what I've been hearing.

If you're not going to be in rural areas a whole lot, then Voicestream would be the best for you. Voicestream does have some rural coverage, more than people think and give them credit for. Check out the T-Mobile (Voicestream) Nationwide Coverage Map |

I can't say for how they are in other area's but in the twin cities, Voicestream has pretty much the best call clarity and very competitive pricing plans (Not sure if those change area to area....) The only thing that bummed me out is when I drove from ST. Paul to wyoming, I lost signal the minute I hit I90........ |

well, I suppose I would have been bummed too, but I-90 isn't exactly the best area for cellphnoe coverage, I'm sure. It's a pretty barren area, especially through South Dakota.. but at least with Verizon, you could have roamed on whatever carriers had service through those areas, as most of the route is covered under America's Choice. I sorta wonder what carriers do have service up there, though.

In 2.5 years of reading boards like these, I saw my first comment about questionable T-Mobile service in Columbus this week. I've been there a few times and never had any problems.

It appears to me that Ohio is one of T-mobile's best states overall... Very few complaints coming from users up there at all. Haven't heard any reports on coverage in Cleveland, but I'm sure they'll start pouring in eventually.

I've been to Columbus with my T-Mobile phone alot and only had two system busies, but no dropped calls or anything. Everything else was fine. I'll be going back to Columbus September 21, so I will post my findings when I get back.
