Well I just got back from a nice 2 day trip through the western part of Illinois to see the beautiful "Starved Rock" State Park. It's located approximately 2 hours west of Chicago off of I-80. Wouldn't you know it? With my Verizon AC plan, I was sometimes roaming on Sprint PCS and sometimes on Illinois Valley Cellular. Deep within the forest and canyon trails I actually had a signal on Sprint PCS! Beautiful weekend -- lots of Harley-davidson riders out there. Even in the surrounding towns of "Starved Rock" such as Ottawa and Utica you'd be roaming on Sprint PCS. In the actual Starved Rock park, campgrounds, lodge and hiking trails you'd be roaming on either Sprint PCS or Illinois Valley Cellular. Hell, even when I saddled up on the horse to go horse-riding in cow and corn-country (few miles away from the State Park entrance) I realized I was still on Sprint PCS signal! This was just an fyi....and note that I did have the flashing 'R' indicator and so all this roaming was within my AC plan (so no roaming charges). |
