I have a one-year contract with Verizon that will expire 9/19/2002. I am looking into getting another service provider, but I'm not sure exactly which one and when I will switch. If I continue on with Verizon, does that automatically start another contract year? I would ask Verizon themselves, but when I call their Customer Service and press all the buttons, I always get a busy signal! |

Zelly, No problem. At the end of your year contract, your agreement becomes "month to month." That means they can hold you to the end of the next billing month, but no further. Years ago there was a 2-week or so window when you were able to cancel, and if you didn't, you were automatically re-upped for another year. Those days are gone. -Bill |

Be careful and listem to the recording before hitting the buttons. (joke) After your contract is up you can go month to month or take a new promo, it is up to you. You may want to try a new plan. Why you want to switch? |

Just curious where you live, Zelly, and why you're considering switching FROM Verizon. I'm sure if you give us some info we can help you pick a new provider.
