Default Voicestream Istream question

Does anyone know if Istream is GPRS? Whenever I connect it takes almost 30 seconds. I have never seen the GPRS indicator on my V60g. I have the optional 1MB plan so I assume I am not detracting from my minutes. Any help.

Before my account was activated with GPRS, the service used CSD instead, which is dog-slow and subtracts from your minutes. When my GPRS service became active, iStream became near instantaneous.

It's doubtful you're using GPRS if your V60g is not showing the indicator. I had a similar problem with Cingular and they had to go in and manuall provision me in the switch, so I'd give tech support a call and see what's up. :-)

Cryogenic - Have you had any luck putting multiple numbers to the same contact WITHOUT having the same contact name appear multilple times on the display. I could do this with my Motorola i90c and my wife can do it with her V60t. Thanks.

Did you get it working yet? If you called customer care, then I'm sure they took care of it. They are good people.

However, did you have iStream activated on your account yet? Even though you have the plan, you have to have it activated. The way that Voicestream's computers are connected to your phone and service is something. If it's not on your account, then you can't use the service. I once couldn't send text messages, but I could receive them. I called them and they looked at my account and said that somebody had took off SMS out, they called it SMO. As soon as the rep put it back on, then I was back to sending messages.
I just called and activated iStream on my account, and when I looked at 'Services' on my account throught the MyVoicestream.com website, it showed GPRS.

Yes - A quick call took care of it. I am now a convert to VS. I have used all the big guys in the last three years - I chnage jobs alot- and I am in awe of the sound quality of VS. the coverage area will work great for me and the rate plan is almost to good to be true. I just can't stand the fact that on my V60g I can't store multiple numbers per contact. !@#$%^&*
