HELP! I bought a motorola V120c phone off ebay thinking it could be setup with my verizon service. I came to find out it was setup for sprint pcs (bell canada). Everyone tells me its impossible to change. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim |

Your situation is a perfect example of what I've warned about in the past: http://whitehare.topcities.com/Buy3rdParty.htm I do realize that the only "help" I have provided is to enlighten you to something you've already learned the hard way. Unless the seller is willing to take it back, your only choice may be Sprint. |

Listen I bought the v60c with Verizon service off E-bay and it worked fine and i saved over $300, compared to being a gold member with Verizon, Kevin just hates the fact that some of us get a good deal. But to answer your question, which I already think you know is that you got screwed. Contact E-bay and they are very good at getting the seller to take it back, also give he/she a very poor rating with comments so others in the future don't have this problem. P.S. Yo Kev you know I was just playing with you, sorry I haven't been able to argue with you or worldcomtom lately I unfortuantely was in Cancun working on my Tan, and chasing down women. Oh and my father and I brought are Verizon sell phones there and they didn't work. And please don't tell me that your At&T phone would have worked there! enough already JK |

DiverDown, You were in Cancun chasing down women with your Father!?!?! Yeah! Sure!! Who caught the most??? But I'm really puzzled about the cell phone. A colleague (says he) spent a week at a conference in Cancun in November. (He certainly wasn't in the office!) He took his Verizon cell phone. He says it worked (analog!). He called us and we called him on it at least once. You're saying he wasn't really in Cancun.. I'll have to ask (torment!) him about that...... And find out where he really was!!!! |

Ok, you got me I didn't tell you the whole story, when I got off the plane and was in the vicinity of the airport within a mile, it worked in analog. But My pops and I actually stated at this new area called Playa De Carmen which is 70 miles from Cancun, the beaches were much nicer and there weren't people haggling you on the beach. The area is much nicer but more layed back and remote (due to this some guys and I had to pay $30 each way to go to Cancun and party every night, but whatever), and all the hotels around there are all inclusive resorts because of that. I actually saw the tower when I was heading back to the airport it was like 2 miles from it and was the shortest oldest tower that I have ever seen. I actually asked a worker what service he used, and all he told me was that it was prepaid, also most the workers there only had either an old 5120 or a 6160 nokia phone. |

The Snowiest place in the US is in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, which are in California. They measure snow with yardsticks in the Sierras, none of this 1 or 2 feet pansy stuff lol Nuff Said |

To Anonymous, Technically it can be done, switching your phone from Sprint to Verizon, but it's aweful difficult to do. As mentioned in other posts on this website, the lock code is next to impossible to break and getting Sprint to give you that code is even harder. Sprint put the code on the phone for this exact reason, so they can make leaving their service difficult. You might get lucky that someone on this website who works for sprint reads this and decides to help you out. In short, Diverdown said it best, you got screwed. Tom |

EBay SmeBay. Let me tell you about my experience there. I tried to buy a digital camera there and on one particular bidding sequence I kept getting outbid by one particular guy--to the point that he bid higher than retail. I finally wrote him and asked what the heck he was doing. He replied he didn't know what retail was. (Now that is just plain stupid.) And yet subsequently I saw several others do the same thing.

Hi Kevin, You are so right about ebay. Sometimes the bidding gets out of control and people pay way too much. Often they just bid simply because they want to win a bidding war. Crazy huh? Larry |
