I had worldCom for a year. And i went through hell near the end of my contract agreement. I signeda 1-year contract agreement with Worldcom but that is normal for any cell phone company. So near the end of my agreement i was getting bills like 5-10 days befure they were due. i get threatening calls from them saying they haven't gotten payment ans why and they will cut me off if they don't get it soon. so they change the billing date on my phone to as soon as possible and they did the same thing with others. So just as soon as my contract is up my phone doesn't work anymore, after further findings they sent an EMP to screw my phone up but they refused that its their fault and said i had to pay a ____ load for a new phone or sign another 1 year contract to get a free phone. They refused to replace it for free as it says in my contract, so i told them i want to cancel my service with them. Then the moron on the phone is trying to be all buddy with me and trying to have me stay with them and they would be willing to do ANYTHING. HAHAHAhA, as i lafed at this loser. well i get my service canceled and the person said i will not be billed for they full month since the phone died like 7 days after the start of a new billing period. So i thought cool and this should be no problem. That is what i thought i get charged a full month and then some, so i wrote a letter asking them to fix it. The next month i get another bill even charging me for more. So i had an attorny friend write a letter to them, they finally send me the fixed bill. But the week after i get a letter saying if i don't pay up i will get ut off. the person i talked to was very rude and said i was late and delinquent. So i told him off. The next week i get another letter from them saying my acount has been shut down and i started getting very threatening and harrassing phone calls. I sent them the check but they still were bothering me saying they haven't recieved it yet and that i was late on payments. i have since then hired a lawyer to make sure they don't screw up my credit record and for their harrasment and threating me.

i have been trying to cancel my worldcom wireless phone for over 3 months with no result, guess i'll get a lawyer also.

I agree.. That is the worst Cell phone company to sign a contract. And I signed 2 year contract with this idiots. It worked great for 6 months and then i don't get signal in my own house. My uncle who has the same phone with same company gets full signal in my house. So I called them up at tech support. This is what they told me, "Cell phones are not suppose to work inside the house." You all must be laughing.. but i m serious.. that is what they told me.. I would NEVER EVER in my life get this company again not ever for my home service. And i tell you guys.. unless you guys like to suffer with this piece of ____ company.. so listen to me and never get this phone even if they give you free phone and unlimited nights and weekends...

For all that it matters now but Worldcom doesn't own their system. They buy time from all the other carriers out there and then re-sale it to you. I would chose one of the companies directly before going thru one of these type of companies. It will be just like Virgin Mobile when it launches in the states. They are going to buy time from Sprint PCS.
