Fantastic! Chicago is coming soon!

FOR RELEASE 11/13/2001
AT&T Wireless GSM/GPRS Service Shines in Florida

Advanced wireless services available from Daytona Beach through South Dade County and in areas surrounding Orlando, St. Petersburg and Tampa

MIAMI - AT&T Wireless (NYSE: AWE) today begins offering the enhanced voice and high-speed data services of its GSM/GPRS network to more than 11 million Floridians in the Sunshine State. Florida is the largest GSM/GPRS market the company has launched this year.

In addition to the next generation services, Florida customers will be among the first to select several new products. The new products are now available to AT&T Wireless GSM/GPRS customers in more than a dozen cities in and around the Detroit, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Portland (OR) and Seattle areas.

"Whether in the sun and sand of Florida or the areas surrounding the majestic mountains of Washington State, AT&T Wireless customers are experiencing a new generation of wireless service," said Mohan Gyani, president of AT&T Wireless' mobility unit. "Over the next year, we'll expand these services to reach millions of people throughout the country."

The company plans to launch GSM/GPRS service in Chicago, Indianapolis and Kansas City in the next several weeks.

Florida customers can purchase products and services at more than 170 outlets, including AT&T Wireless retail stores, individual dealer locations and national retail distribution outlets. Circuit City, CompUSA, Franklin Covey, OfficeMax and Ritz Camera will be among several national retailers who will add AT&T Wireless' advanced GSM/GPRS service to their line of wireless offers.

AT&T Wireless' GSM/GPRS network provides individual users and business customers high-quality voice calls and "always on" high-speed access to the wireless web at data speeds faster than those currently available on many wireless networks.

PRODUCTS

Customers in markets currently served by the GSM/GPRS network can use new devices to take advantage of the enhanced wireless services.
