I am I a Verizone Wireless customer who is very happy with his service. The only thing that bothers me is there lack of phones for there customers. All the cool phones usually end up being under Sprint and At&T. So I was wondering if companies like Siemens and Nokia were going to make CDMA phones any time soon. I know Nokia has one buts its the 5000 series, and thats a piece of garbage. Also I was wondering if anyone knows why some of the cooler sprint phones like the sanyo series of phones aren't made for verizon service, I can't see it being that difficult to change it considerding that Verizon's Trimode phones have the capability to work at the 1900mhz frequency anyways.

I read somewhere on here that Verizon might offer the Nokia 3300 series in December. Right now, for the most part, only Cingular, AT@T, and Voicestream offer it. Pretty nice with a lot of features.

Actually it was AT&T customers who were grumbling about the fact that Sprint and Verizon had better phones. Sprint has a bunch of decent Samsung, Touchpoint and Sanyo phones and Verizon had its Motorola V60 and LG TM510. Mind you, AT&T's Motorola V60 and Nokia 3360 are fairly recent additions to their lineups and so it kinda balances out a bit with Verizon. Yes, the Nokia 3285 is a CDMA phone...I thought it was available for Verizion but maybe not yet I guess. Nokia also made an attempt in making a CDMA version for Sprint PCS 2 years ago or so but that was a failed attempt as Sprint dropped them not too long after their debut. Siemens has also made announcements for making a CDMA phone for the US market but who knows when? Siemens' expertise, big R&D money and bread & butter products are in the GSM world. And yes they are in the process of introducing the S47 sometime in the new year to target AT&T's new GSM/GPRS market. I don't have an official answer about Sanyo phones not being available for Verizon but I would have to guess that Sprint PCS has exclusive rights. Perhaps they banded together to come out with ultra cool phones that can't be used on competing CDMA networks. |

The Nokia 3285 has been out with Verizon for a couple of weeks now. I got mine about a week ago, and I love it.
