Does anyone know if you have GSM service with AT&T and a dual band phone if you will be able to use the TDMA signal when out of the GSM coverage area???

In order to use the TDMA signal when out of the GSM area, you will need to be on AT&T's multiband plan with a suitable multiband phone (for example, the SE T62U). If you are on a GSM plan, you will not be able to access the TDMA network for regular calls (you can always call 911) because your phone's ESN would not have been activated on the TDMA side of the network.
