Verizon Wireless Insurance (New or Refurb)???

Ok, so my brother lost his A530 at school yesterday.....we've got total coverage on all of our 4 phones with VZW, question is will the insurance company issue you a new phone or just give you a refurb????

I am over in Southern California......how do this work here??? Also, since A530 is no longer available....are they gonna give him the A530S?? thanks

Refurbs are generally always what you get on an insurance claim unless they only happen to have new units in stock.

My buddy had a a530 gold and lost it and the insurance sent him a brand new a530 silver, but that was right when the silvers came out so they probably have some refurbs now so thats probably what you will get. Just make sure if he gets a refurb and it has scratches or something, have them call the company and demand another one in new condition.

I made two claims with Verizon phones and they were both new units. Ask the insurance company.

I have always had problems with the insurance company they never the phone I need replacing in stock, I have gone to just keeping a backup phone and saving the insurance money. Gives me an excuse to purchase a new phone that I want anyway.
