Ok. I currently will be living in Clinton, IA. I may get a cellular phone...but I am not sure how. I know I would like to use a website like amazon.com or a1wireless.com, *************, etc. so I get the best deal. However, amazon.com says that no service is avaliable. How can I take advantage of these deals? I know Iowa Wireless is a GSM t mobile affiliate but they don't appear on amazon's website. Also, if I order a phone in Baltimore, MD and use it in Iowa via a t mobile nationwide plan, would I pay roaming since I am on Iowa Wireless? Cliffnotes: How can I take advantage of online deals in East Iowa? |

I'm not sure why you want to order a plan off Amazon or online all together. I know it can be done though. But if I were you I would wait until you get to Iowa and visit some of the carriers stores. Talk to the sales people and ask them what plans they have and where their coverage areas extend to. Depending on the plan you purchase will determine where you are roaming and where your home coverage is.

You will need to go to a dealer in Iowa to get the best deals. If may be going on the Illinois side every now and then you will want a to choose a CDMA provider like US Cellular or Verizon. GSM phones won't work on Illinois side over Clinton and Dubuque areas since there is no GSM towers in that area. If you will only travel to the quad cites, Waterloo and Cedar Rapids, Iowa City you will be ok with Iowa Wireless. Best of Luck!
