Default Home # to cell phone

I'm trying to get my home # on to my cell phone. I have Qwest for my home.

However, Sprint website said I can't yet. Is it becasue my home area code is differnet then my cell phone area code? Both area codes are in Minneapolis

Thanks!

It may be an issue that you have different area codes with your home and cell phone numbers because porting your number from a landline to a wireless phone requires the numbers to be in the same rate center and if they have different area codes they may indeed be in different rate centers. Also I was under the impression that the ability to port your number from a landline to a wireless carrier would not be available until after the May 2004 deadline for all remaining wireless markets other than the top 100 MSA's to start porting number. I could be wrong, of course as I was away from the WA forums the week that WLNP became a reality so there's probably a lot of things concerning WLNP I'm not aware of.

Yeah, porting is only available for the top 100 markets. Are you in one of them MinnWisc? if you go to the wireless Advisor homepage there is a way to check.
