I just checked the Alltel local plan map for Michigan (zip 49721) and it changed back to the way it was before, when it did not include Detroit. What is going on. They better not try to tell me that my local plan does not include Detroit since I switched from the national plan. I have a printed copy of the local map when it did include Detroit as my proof.

Do they charge extra for long dist on your "local freedom" plan? I have my mother(up in WI) on the national plan($35+$5) 'cause LD was extra on local plans when I signed up. Of course she doesn't use anywhere near her 400anytimes but they are there just in case. Kinda sucks they don't include the whole state like others do on their local plans. Ben67 |

Long distance within the local coverage area to anywhere else in the local coverage area is included. Nationwide long distance is $5.00 extra. Actually Alltel has the largest local coverage area that I know of. Especially when it included Detroit last week. |

Bummer. To have my mom on the lower $$ plans it's more cost effective for me to keep the "national freedom" plan. Allte's Local area is not all that in WI(doesn't cover Madison or other places south and not much in the very north). Ben67 |

They changed it back so it includes Detroit again. COOL!
