I found this cell phone at work the other day and turned it on, it was the motorola v60 or v90 flip phone with the spy screen on the outside of the flip. Anyways, it powered on to AT&T (we use several different carriers at work) Now the date and time came up too automatically. I didn't think TDMA did this. When I was on Cingular TDMA, it didn't auto time sync. AT&T TDMA does auto time sync? If this is the case, meaning if TDMA has auto time sync capabilities, why didn't my Nokia 5160 auto time sync? Was that just a Cingular thing, to not auto time sync TDMA? |

that phone comes in a CDMA version so thats probably why. Verizon/USCC/Altel and some others carry the phone.

willcall, Sorry....We are in charge of cell phones at work. When somebody leaves, they turn it in. OR we "find" the phone in their desk or somewhere. Cellularific, so this CDMA function works on a TDMA system? |

It sure does . My old 3360 used to automatically update the time, but now that I have GSM, it doesn't do it anymore ...but you always have time.windows.com (even though I hate Microsoft in general...)

t720....your GSM phone does not auto time sync? I thought GSM was supposed to do that. Mine does with Cingular. A guy at work had the t720 AT&T GSM and his updates the time automatically. Hmmmm this stuff can give you a headache!

AT&T has had time sync for a few months now.. Look for the option in the phone and it will work when you are on their network. (GSM and TDMA apply here)

AT&T has time/date (TDMA) sync in virtually all markets now (a few Telecorp markets are still lagging). The GSM syncs sometimes...but not always...and for some reason...the GSM on the East Coast (Atlanta, Florida and NYC) is having a problem with DST...keeps wanting to set the phone an additional hour too fast....go figure. |

I just turned my phone (AT&T TDMA) to "Confirm update" then turned it off, took out the battery (which I know kills the clock on the 5160) and then put it back together and turned it on. It asked me iff I wanted to update, which it did. The clock was reset to a time that I know is two minutes lower than what I had it set at. So, I guess it works...
