Default Tower data & info

Does anyone know of a site that has information on service providers' towers; things like location, number of towers in a city, and so on?

Default Tower data & info

This is almost what I was hoping to find, except I don't think they're showing only cell phone towers in their data: they showed something like 20 towers (on billboards, towers, and others) in a 5-mile radius of my apt in Terre Haute, IN, which just can't be right. Also, they don't show the towers by what system they carry (AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) but apparently by who erected them (which really doesn't help me).

I'd like to be able to find out, for example, how many Verizon towers are in a particular town and where they are located. Perhaps I am just not using this site correctly...

Actually, about 20 towers in a 5 mile radius sounds about right. Combining all carriers and other telecommunication services, and them having a tower every mile or two can amount to about 20 sites/towers in most urban/suburban areas.
Now, you will not find any more information than that. There is no such thing (besides independent, private sites from hobbyists) as a website with a national database of towers listing the carrier offering services there. The Telecom Source site lists the owners of the towers/sites, not the commercial names of the operating carriers. This is because the owners of these towers are subsidiaries or affiliates to the carriers themselves or independent companies to whom the carriers lease tower space from. Normally, you will see several carriers in the same tower. However, another company owns the tower. Telecom Source is a database for those researching to lease a location where to put their transmitting equipment because tower owners make good money that way, so needless to say, tower space leasing is a very lucrative business these days. Telecom Source it is not exactly for hobbyist like us who are just curious to know where our provider's towers are. Therefore, the towers found at Telecom Source are not just cell towers, although most of them are.
