Well..i can go with Verizon (which wants a $400.00 deposit) Alltal wants a 1000.00 deposit and those are the major ones then you have attws which uses the same network as T-mobile and nextel which wants 400.00 deposit from me

I can receive and make calls pretty good here at my home. however the eastside and northside of town has very poor coverage. I have not considered a prepaid phone as a back up..but TMO keeps telling me that better coverage is coming. They've told me this for about 6 months now. 7elev Speak Easy? What is that?

Sounds good..Does 7elev sell the phones and cards too? I was our local 7elev and didn't see any phones just cards too. But one problem..we dont have Cingular here. Verizon, Alltel, Nextel, TMO, and ATTws

Cingular is not available in findlay..but VZW is and they want a $400.00 deposit from me..which I think should be against the law..but that is why I chose TMO..b/c they werent as particular about the credit cheack as anyone else was.

CINGULAR coverage map shows I75 coverage where Finlay is. They may not be selling service here but they're showing coverage. Like Hillsboro where it's not on their website but there's coverage. T-Mobile has the same coverage for I75 coverage for Finlay but has huge coverage gaps in Ohio. Last edited by jones; 07-11-2004 at 10:35 PM. |

T-Mobile should fill in those gaps. Because I think more and more people are going to want to go Cingular and another service provider.

Tmo probabally will get better coverage here, Once they find out that our local wal mart just started selling their phones a couple months ago. This might help the better coverage in NW ohio with T-mo UPDATE:::: I have switched to Alltel..and let me tell you..it's the best decision I've made this month. just got the Audiovox CDM8410 and let me tell you....full signal anywhere in Findlay and in the out lying ares...no less than 3..Thanks everyone for all of your input!! |

The problem w/ T-Mobile is that they don't want to sign roaming agreements w/ ATTWS or Cingular in Places they don't have coverage. There are places where there's GSM but there's no roaming agreement in place so you get NO coverage.

exactly bones. Which is why I switched carriers to Alltel..better coverage and they have romaing agreements. Plus I got more minutes for less went from 400 for 45.00 to 700 for 39.99. but if T-Mobile had better coverage..dont you think that they would possibly get more customers?

Right or wrong, T-Mobile is continuing to add more customers for anyone except Verizon, and they've been doing this for about two years. Roaming agreements cost money, and what T-Mobile has decided NOT to pay for is "in-market" roaming - meaning if you have TM service in one city, but lose coverage as you go to the outside of the city, your phone won't pick up other GSM coverage (assuming it's at 1900 which is 95% of TM phones support). TM has out of market roaming agreements with many carriers, including AT&T and Cingular. They are also agressively expanding their network all the time - they expect to add over 4000 towers in all of 2004. They added 770 cell sites in the first quarter of this year. Califf04 - you had T-Mobile and had 400 minutes for $45? I've never heard of that plan.

Well..if they expect to save customers..thay'll have to imply roaming agreements or expand coverage. I live where US 68, 224, I-75 and US 23 all intersect..you'd think that all major US routes would be covered by TM. 4000 new towers? HAHA where in BIG cities! No new towers were put up here for TM since they were voicestream and put up the 1st towere in Findlay..The reason I switched carriers was for better coverage and more minutes. but mostly for better coverage. I got sick of not having no service on my phone everytime I went to use it. GSM is GSM..maybe TM will realize that roaming agreements are needed and quit being cheapies and pay the money for in market roaming agreements for their customers!

HAHA this is funny....I got a flyer in the mail today from T-mobile. It said that they added 24 new cell sites in Detroit. Well i live in Findlay Ohio..who cares about Detroit? How about coverage here....Little do they know that I am no longer a t-mobile customer...Stupid people!!

Findlay is probably considered part of the Detroit market, so they sent the card to all their customers in that market. I would guess the cards were probably printed a couple months ago, since I got a card this weekend as well. They might be sending them out nationwide, so that's a lot of cards to print

Matt: Yes findlay in is the Detroit Market. Why did they send them to a non customer (me) They have the money to spend to print the fliers..then they got money to build a new tower in town right? Perhaps if T-mo got better coverage here I'd think of changing back! Till then it's alltel for me! |

You probably got a card b/c at the time they were printed, you were a TM customer. I thought you just recently switched?

Yeah, that happens a lot. I still get correspondence from SBC even though I canceled my landline with them 4 months ago.

I don't have any specific info about OH right now. All I know is that they are adding over 4000 cell sites nationwide this year. They had about 25,000 at the beginning of the year IIRC.

maybe when the new sprint tower goes up out on the eastside of town..TMO can lease space and increase the signal on that side of town perhaps. Atleast last time i heard..sprint was having a new tower built out east in findlay..to serve since we now have a best buy who sells nothing but sprint phones. That was from a best buy associate..but they lie to get sales |
