I have witnessed unusual phone behavior like Anthro. Both my father and I are Verizon customers but he lives in Phoenix, AZ and I live in Milwaukee, WI. He came up and brought his phone along. I noticed his phone said it was Digital Roaming. My phone (held right next to his) said Digital but not roaming. I was able to dial *228 on his phone and it connected to Verizon's programming line and I was able to update his PRL (maybe should have chose option 1 to reprogram his phone). After updating, it still said roaming. His phone was an Audiovox 8300 and mine is the Moto-T720. So the strange behavior Anthro experienced with Verizon while in Milwaukee (always roaming on US Cells network) must be similar to what my Dad experienced. Wisconsin has always gets screwed with lagging or screwed up technology. The only thing I can figure is that my phone is programmed slightly different then my Dad's for being in the Wisconsin area versus Arizona. I get great coverage in Southern Wisconsin with very very little roaming at all (remember a majority of is WI is open country and they tend not to worry about covering County Trunk JJ or Mr. Waskowski's farm road). I never roam along the major freeways or in the cities. |

With Verizon you are not able to get *228 to work properly unless you are in your home SID. Is your dad on the America's Choice plan?? When you dial 611 what network do you connect to?? I too have very little problems w/ Verizon in Southeast WI. I don't go downtown very often. And when I do end up in the middle of nowhere I don't have problems making or receiving calls on USCC's network. I just wish that features(voicemail indicator) would follow me. |

Is your father on a local plan out in PHX or does he have the AC plan? If he is on a local plan his phone will indicate roaming whenever he leaves his home calling area (whatever that may be out in AZ) even if the phone is using the Verizon network. If he does have the AC plan then I have no idea what caused that to happen.
