Default Coverage in Kansas City and eastern KS

I'm looking for a good service in the Kansas City area, but want good coverage as far west as Salina (without roaming). The Verizon America's Choice map shows the area mostly covered, but does anyone have real experience with it? Or are there other providers you would recommend?

Jimmy,
Yes, I've used Verizon in the area, and the AC coverage is as good as expected, definitely the best. Much of the rural coverage is on Alltel, and their network is transparent to VZ users, and is all-digital.

If you don't plan to leave the interstates while in rural KS, Sprint PCS and T-Mobile are also very good.

Yeah I had very good coverage too in the Kansas city area including places such as Overland park, Lenexa, Olathe, etc. I haven't been way out west to Salina but I had good coverage in Lawrence and as far as Topeka.
