any more new news in the Wausau and surroundering area havent been on here in a longtime and throught i would stick my two cents in. I was at the Sam Club in wausau yesterday and there I saw a cellular dealer, and I llok at the booth and saw alltel and then i looked again. I almost fall. So i talk to him and he handed me the new update on alltel and said starting Feb 6 2002 and I saw the coverage map to my eyes I saw WIsconsin, Upper Michigan and lower Micgigan coverage and I couldnt no believe it. And he said for a limit time im not sure for how long for and unlimted time you get 1000 minutes for $29.95 It seems like a good deal from Alltel. Which took forever and a day to get to Wausau and they have the whole state of wisconsin coverage. Not spotty either, my my carrier i have now SPrintPCs. I like sprint though not a problem at all. Signals area good. Except on 29 which I think really is bad. They have to get the networks up on 29 and very soon. I do have roaming with my Sanyo 4900 and does the job just in case Sprint doesnt have coverage and I have that 50 minutes raoming package for only $10 month and that saves me when im in roaming dont get charged a penny. Only if I go over the 50 minutes of roaming then we can say .40/min roaming after 50 minutes. Must get 29 soon. I do see that Sprint website call new sites where they list new networks and in what cities and states. Since Ive been going to each month to see. I only see maybe 6-8 new networks in wisconsin and not even close to Wausau if you count Eau Claire close, and Milwaukee. Yea, I know Wausau isnt a big city like Milwaukee but come on Cellular carriers had over 20 years to get the act togther and they still havent got it together yet. And we are falling so far behind Europe and Asia for Cellular markets its not funny they had 3G long time ago, and we are just getting it now, Man its like we are driving a Model T and Europe and Asia are driving a Mustag. I like to hear what any of you have to say about all of this. And I know some of you will agree with me.

I understand that CellularOne has started doing their GSM update in the 4th quarter of 2002. This is reprted on the Dobson website. Does anyone know when it will be complete? Also does anyone know if they have added any new towers along highway 70 in northern wisconsin between Park Falls and Minoqua? There is a dead spot there right where my cabin is along the Pike Lake chain of lakes. It has been very frustrating for several years and there is no other carriers up there either.

I just still don't understand. Theres more than one CellularOne companies? Since I'm using CellularOne (Western Wireless Corporation) but CellularOne (Dobson Cellular) are they both the same or completely different? I know I get roaming in Duluth, Minnesota, but its Roam Free that covers 20 Western States. Overage minutes within 20 states will be charge $0.39 cents a minute. In Eastern States will be charge $0.59 cents a minute. Within CellularOne Network I get 50 free text messenger after that outgoing $0.10 cents per text message, incoming free, 700 anytime minutes, Roam Free 100, 1000 M2M, Unlimited N+W. (7pm-7am), and Talk Watcher (required due to no credit estbalished and paid 50.00 sec dep) an additional 5.00 fee all together 49.99. Yes we do have digital network coverage here as of now, it was never had digital network here before. VZW still analog in this area under PRL through our local Sagebrush Cellular (SID 31092) with no roaming at all and excellent signal strenght 4-5 bars, however I was unable to send text message, e-mail and browser, but now I do through CellularOne and I've use Text Message and E-mail most of time and its awesome man! I have never done do such things in my life I've been living in rural area for almost 21 years that always been analong til just now happen to have digital network covered our town. I just want to know if I'm on Dobson Cellular will I get roaming, or no ?

Yes there is more than one Cellular One. The Cellular One name is just a franchise name, the same as McDonalds. Each location is owned seperately. Now with the cellular locations there would one owner for a much larger area, like Dobson Cellular. But if you owned a cellualr company and wanted to changed it to the Cellular One name you could assuming it was available for that area.
