I have been a T-Mobile customer for over 2 years in Ann Arbor, MI. I am relatively happy with the service. I am on the 29.99 Talk and Text plan, which gets me 300 anytime, unlimited nights and weekends, no ld or roaming. However, my current phone needs to be replaced and T-mobile has not provided me with acceptable replacement options. The cheapest acceptable phone is the Nokia 6010 for $60. 1. How come T-Mobile will not provide better rates? I talked to the cancellation dept. several times and they will not budge. 2. If I switch, any advice on who to go with. Many of my family members have Verizon, so I am tempted to use them. Thanks. |

If you have friends and family members on Verizon...the "IN" network is the way to go through Verizon. I keep my peak minutes down because of this. Most of all my friends and family are on Verizon network...and for those that aren't...I just call on the weekend when it's free Good luck to you. the only other thing I could say you could do is find someone who has a T-Mobile phone they would be willing to sell or give you...or try ebay. |

T-Mobile probably won't give you a better deal because you are on a cheaper plan. All carriers generally try much harder to keep high revenue customers.... If you are concerned about phones, Verizon is not your best bet. Their phones are overpriced and not that great. But if you are able to use mobile to mobile mins. more often, than it may be the best fit for you althought you will pay more for a comparable plan. |

Currently, the best phone upgrade prices with TM you must meet two conditions: first, be at least 12 months since your last upgrade, and 2nd, be on a 39.99 plan or higher if on a single line. Since you don't meet the 2nd condition, that's why you must pay more. However, ask them if you switch to the plan, can you get a better deal. Generally, you then get the TM corporate store price for new customers, including any rebates. You can then switch back to a lower rate plan later on without penalty. In any switch you will forfeit any plan add-ons you have if they are no longer offered. Specifically in your case, the T&T plan is no longer offered, so you would lose that (it includes some SMS as well). Plus, are you sure you have unlimited nights? AFAIK, TM never offered nights as an option on any plan below $39.99, although I seem to remember perhaps a test in some areas, so maybe you got lucky

Listen, to me. Stay put. If you are happy with the service, you can always get a phone. You are getting 300 minutes, for $30.00. Go to Verizon it will cost 35, in reality, you will be paying $5.00 month for a phone. Go to ebay, try to get a Nokia 3589i. If reception is the most important thing and you do not care about all the bells and whistles, you will be very satisfied. Better yet, sign up with Verizon, get the 3589, cancel before the 15 days. That way you will know if that is the phone for you.
