Lightbulb Re: interesting web site to post tower pics

If we can get enough trees into the database (hint, hint... ), we can set it up so that people can browse the pictures by type (trees, buildings, stealth, etc). You can also put the GPS coordinates into our database which is very helpful, but not required.

By the way, I bought a basic Garmin eTrex Legend at walmart.com for just $135 a few months ago...some are even cheaper.

Do any of the Internet maps (Google, MapQuest, etc) have approximate GPS coordinates? That would make it easy to add GPS to a lot of the towers I put up since I can pinpoint them on a map.

It's funny because some of the pics posted on that site are of towers that I've also visited and photographed. But no none of my pics have been posted there.

Usually the CD programs like Microsoft Streets or USA Atlas can give you the coordinates. I'm not sure about web-based services like Mapquest.

I've got M$ Expedia Streets & Trips 2000. Maybe I should install it sometime and check it out....
