    Default Been a while since...

    Hi gang:

Yes, it's been some six months since I last logged in.

After returning from my trip to Turkey earlier this year, I settled in to focus on writing my LL.M. dissertation on the new federal wireless collocation law, Section 6409. I'm pleased to report that I received a very favorable grade on my LL.M. dissertation, so that's officially behind me now after two years of study, 24ish papers, and the 15,000 word dissertation.

Now I turn to studying for the New Mexico Bar exam, which I take at the end of February. Why New Mexico, since I'm already a member of the California Bar? Because I plan to semi-retire to Santa Fe in a few years. No time like the present to move that goal a bit closer.

I hope all of you, my friends are doing well and getting ready for a grand 2013

By the way, in my holiday tradition, I went to the Rose Bowl today to snap my annual photos of the COWS and COLTS. I'll share them with you as soon as I figure out how to upload them to the gallery. The process seems to have changed since last I logged in, so I'm a bit behind the times.

    Smiles, one and all...

    Jonathan

Jonathan - Good to hear from you and congrats on your recent professional achievements.

The new picture upload tool should be easier once you get the hang of it. Please let me know if it isn't easy as I'd like to fix it.

Ah what the heck, I might as well chime in, too. I saw a new cell site being built nearby, which is practically illegal around here these days, and figured I would stop in.

Of course not! What would be the fun in that?
Since I stopped frequenting the forums, I've actually been settling on phones.....for months at a time!
I had the iPhone 4s (I know, I know) for probably a year, and the Galaxy Nexus on Verizonicon since maybe last summer?
I'll be switching to AT&Ticon when my contract is up in June (I know, I know), since Verizonicon has been acting more like Sprint in NYC recently.
So, that about sums up the last 3 years of my life!

Verizonicon is acting up in NYC lately? Huh, interesting. Do you think it's related to VZW's LTE upgrades? Maybe AT&Ticon is more "stable" since their HSPA network is more "mature" than VZW's LTE?

AT&Ticon runs their own version of LTE in NYC, so I'd be surprised if it were any more mature than VZW's.

By acting up, I mean overloaded, AT&Ticon 2007 style. LTE speed tests in midtown Manhattan ranging in the hundreds and low thousands. Speeds worse than EVDO should be.

Well I can report that I have very recently moved into 85% semi retirement. Meaning I'm retired but still doing a bit of consulting. Very happy here.
