Does anyone know what a decommissioned Cell tower means? I'm a t-mobile customer in Wiliamson, WV. I lost service abruptly on June 29th as well as all the other t-mobile users in our area. After several calls to t-mobile trying to find out what was going on they informed me and others that they had several towers that had been decommissioned and had spectrum problems?! Does anyone know what this means? I really hate losing their cell service after 9 days of calling and talking to several people they let us out of our contract but I still feel like I lost my best friend. I have been with t-mobile for 4 years and was completely happy with them until that happened. I just wanted to know how long these things take to work out, they couldn't tell me on the phone. Anyone know anything? |

Decommisioned means turn off, no more, kaput. Normally a decommision is due to relocating a tower somewhere else. Spectrum problem is not good, they may have been leasing frequencies from someone else or just some BS 611 made up.\ Really should have posted in tmobile forums. |

Thanks for the info, that's kind of what I thought but wasn't sure. Sorry about where I posted this but I was hoping the user that's from the same town I am that posted an actual picture of that tower would know exactly why this happened.

I have seen it up close and nothing has been removed. There was a picture posted in the Tower Hunting club by Hatchett Man I think but it was a tower a 100 feet away from T-mobile's tower. I may take a picture to see if that helps with anyone being able to tell me about it. Thanks again for the help!
