After doing some extensive research for another thread to answer a Germany-specific question, I finally found the new site of the federal agency which is responsible for listing German cell sites. In contrast to the UK site finder, you will not be able to see whose tower is at that location or what frequency is being used. Instead you need to follow these steps: First Step - You have to disable your popup blocker or list the site as an exception to the sites whose popup windows are blocked!! 1) Go to: http://emf.bundesnetzagentur.de 2) Under PLZ (ZIP Code), enter the 5-digit German ZIP Code. 3) Click on Lade Orte (Load locations) 4) From the drop-down menu "Orte auswählen/select city", scroll to the city you want to check site locations for. 5) Then click on the drop-down menu for "Strasse auswählen/select street", scroll to the street you want to use a reference point. 6) Finally, click on "Lade Karte" (Load Map) The map is then loaded with the location info you provided, you can click on the triangles to find out what type of antenna is located there. For cell sites, you'll get a Mobilfunk listing in the category section of the table in the popup window. The table will also list the height of the site in meters in the second table row. If you know the street address and the provider of the site you're checking, you can easily use www.senderliste.de to see if someone in that area of Germany has already compiled a cell site listing for the applicable city or region. I have extensive experience in using those lists especially for the Cologne area so if you have any questions on how to use those lists, post your search request below or send it to me via PM. Have fun

Wow, now this is awesome!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to find this and post it here for us. The only problem I have is that if I click on a site, it pops up a new window saying "bitte warten information wird geladen" and then the window closes and nothing happens... lol. Maybe they will improve this site in the future to show carriers present at the location but this is awesome! Thanks Shoresguy! |

Hey, gang... I know I've been MIA for a bit. I'm in the middle of studying for the California Bar Exam I have much to share, but for the next 6 weeks I'm going to remain fairly quiet...I hope. Best to all, Jonathan |
