It used to be that when I would be transferring a file from one of my phones to another, I would only see my phone and maybe, if I was at work, one other phone. Now, when I'm transferring files from one phone to another, when I select Look For Devices, I find a ton of devices with active Bluetooth. Don't people know they can turn it off or put their devices not in discoverable mode? How many devices are active where you are? Right now, there are six around me.

I see a couple that don't belong to me when I'm at work and the computer that I guess belongs to my girlfriend's neighbor when I'm at her house. Nothing but mine at home.

I do what most of you do: Turn Bluetooth on only when I need it. There are times when I pull up items that aren't mine, so I know what you're talking about, Motohooligan. I've noticed for my PDA/Smartphones, leaving BT on is a major battery drain. "As needed" works for me.

I leave my Bluetooth powered on but my PEBL is only in discoverable mode for 30 seconds if I put it in discoverable mode. I want to be able to open my HS850s' boom and have it instantly connect. I know this uses battery power but does it use as much battery power as the people who have it active and we can find them when we search for them? SteveW, you wanna weigh in on this?

I have plenty of BT devices around me and when I do a search I find none and the reason for that is every thing is set not to be discoverable unless I wnat to add something which is then a diferent story.

My downstairs neighbor's Bluetooth is always on. I want to tell her that she's wasting battery life but I doubt she would even know what Bluetooth is, let alone how to turn it off.
