Watch out for these folks, possible scam

I had a couple of Nokia 3360s that I was no longer using. They were going for about $20 apiece on E-bay at the time, but I really didn't feel like going to that much trouble to sell them. I came across this place: http://www.oldcellphone.com/index.php . I found that they were offering $7 apiece for them at that time, so I decided to go that route and requested a shipping box. They sent that right out, but that's about all they've done.

I mailed both phones, along with good batteries, and both chargers to them on 3/15/04. Never heard anything back from them, so I e-mailed an inquiry around the 20th of April, at which time they said they had recieved the phones on 4/12/04. I found that curious, but went along, since they also said they would mail my payment on 5/12/04. Well, mail from their location to mine usually takes 2 or 3 days and I've received nothing so far.

At this point, I don't even get answers to my e-mails, so I can only assume that this is the end of this story. Not much I can do over $14, except to warn others to be wary. I hope this info proves helpful to someone else in the future.

That was always by big fear of the auction sites, you do not know who you are dealing with.

Can you have any recourse through the site, itself?

Saw that they're located in Florida. You could file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I stand corrected and wanted straighten this post out. They called me yesterday and said the check had been mailed on the 12th. Not sure what caused all the delays, but sure enough, the check arrived today and was postmarked on the 12th. About all I can say is patience may be in order when dealing with these folks. Other than that, they appear to have done everything they said they would.
