Is it a Verizon BB? If not, it may be very difficult. The fact the ESN is clean is not the problem. Verizon is notoriously finicky about a CDMA phone from another carrier/network being used on their network.

This is not to say it's impossible, but it may be difficult unless it's a Verizon branded BB phone.

Yeah it's a verizon BB, it was previously used on verizon. I actually ended up just going by a store today and they said it would be fine i just have to add the data package.

Yeah thats all you need to do. You were lucky, in the past I bought 2 Verizon BB's from E-bay, touted as having clean ESNs. In both cases when I went to activate them with Verizon they would not activate them as they came up as stolen. In both cases I got a full refunds.

Ya i'm gonna go to the store tomorrow because i tried to do it via the automated system tonight and it didn't work... I'll have to speak with them. Who refunded you? Verizon or the person you bought form?

The 2 BBs I bought off of E-bay that I could not activate since they were listed as stolen by Verizon, in both cases the seller refunded my money. And why wouldn't they I could have turned them into both E-bay and Pay Pal for selling stolen merchandise. Had I done so, refunding my money would have been the least of thier concern.

I have never been able to activate a BB on the Verizon web site. You can just call them and they will do it for you over the phone. They will just need the ESN number, takes a few minutes. Of course you should add the BB plan to your contract, $29.99 a month, unlimited data.
