Here is my BlackBerry Bold 9000 for at&t review: What's in the Box: -Charger -Bold (the phone itself) -Desktop Software 4.6 -Holster -Manual -In-ear stereo headphones (sound great too) -Battery Here are some first impressions: - I love the keyboard, it's very comfortable to type on. - love the ergonomics, feels much better in the hand. - Screen is STUNNING!!!! - High class look - has WiFi and 3G - sexy leather back (I like this mainly because it can't scratch easily, unlike the Curve's back) - battery life has been excellent so far, it kills the iPhone in this category (from my experience) ___________________ Pros: - Killer screen resolution: this was the very first thing I noticed and still am amazed at how sharp and clear it is. - Amazing battery life: I can easily get through 36 hours of heavy usage (ie: a ton of texting, about 5 hours of talk time, and heavy email usage; which for me is about 12-15 emails a day). - Ear piece is very loud and is easily hear-able in loud environments (like airports) - Keyboard is very comfortable to type lengthy emails or text messages on. My fingers don't cramp up like they did on the Curve keyboard. - Reception is very good. - Rock solid OS. I have never had it crash on me yet (I am running 4.5.190) - Very solid construction, no creaking or squeaky sounds like I always got on my Curve 8310. - Quick access media card slot (on the bottom left side of the phone) - Pseudo Leather back, this is very easy to grip while talking on the phone. -WiFi reception is very good. - Internet browser is much better than previous BlackBerrys (although not as good as the iPhone - 3G connectivity, although I have not had a chance to test the 3G, I will test it when I fly down to North Carolina during Christmas time. Cons: - Screen is easily scratched (I recommend the Invisible Shield screen protector) - "Chrome" bezel is really easy to scratch - Bluetooth is kinda iffy, some headsets work great, some are pure static. - Lack of Applications Overall/My Opinion: - I think this is a great messaging device for the heavy emailer/texter. The keyboard is amazingly comfortable to type on. - Overall, its an acceptable media device. I wouldn't want to watch a movie on such a small screen, but since it's so crisp and sharp I might give it a thought. Thats all for now! Add more details later. |
