OK, stupid question. I am wanting to replace my pearl with a phone that offers WIFI capabilities. Does the actual phone use the WIFI when making calls or does it just use WIFI on the data requests?

I would like to get a cell phone that will make calls on WIFI if possible.

The phones use WiFi to make the calls if that's the way you are connected. Theoretically, you are supposed to be able to tansfer to/from WiFi to the T-Mobile network as you move about. There is a newer pearl (8120 I think) that includes WiFi. When using WiFi, your calls are billed as normal unless you add on the unlimited WiFi calling option ($10 I think).
