"The Boy Genius got his hands on an internal AT&T doc which proclaims OS4.5 is targeted to launch/be available mid-September for existing customers and will begin shipping on new handhelds come mid-October. It looks like some handhelds are going to be left off this rollout though - this document shows support for only the BlackBerry 8820, Curve 8310/8300 and Pearl 8120. I can't help but think there must be a LOT of 8800 and Pearl 8100 users (8700 too!) who would like to see 4.5 for their devices asap."- CrackBerry.com Some new features in RIM's OS 4.5 will include the following: -Video Recording -Documents to Go (it lets you view most documents and edit them) -Improved Browser -HTML Email view capabilities (but you have to manually download the pictures) -New 'L' Theme (home screen icons are arranged in an L) The picture attached is the actually internal document from at&t. |

Maybe AT&T will not release 4.5.xx for the 8800, 8700 etc but other carriers are. If you scroll on over to BB forums you will see under the both the 8800 and 8700 discussions links and instructions on how to install 4.5.81 on both the 8800 and the8700. I did not look at "other model series" but there could downloads for them too.

I just went out and looked at www.att.com/bbdownloads and it's still not out. I have downloaded the French Orange version and I love it so far. I am just wondering about the documents to go. I didn't know if that was a third party application that needed to be purchased or if it was included with this software.

I installed the 4.5.081 (I think that's it) a couple weeks ago. I like it. Though I really need to get that microSD card!
