**Commentary: Two RIM notifications were issued late this afternoon regarding scheduled maintenance the weekend of June 28-29. One was issued for an eight hour maintenance window for Saturday, June 28, for eight hours, falling between Midnight to 8:00 a.m. Another has been issued for Sunday, June 29, for 30 minutes, falling between their routine 2:00 am - 6:00 am window.

The upgrade takes place Saturday morning, the 28th; and activation takes place on Sunday morning, the 29th. ***

1) Maintenance Summary: BlackBerry Internet Service v2.4 upgrade to v2.5

Impact: BlackBerry Internet Service subscribers may be unable to send or receive messages, use the BlackBerry Internet Service web site, or perform activities such as creating new accounts, accessing their Internet mailbox, integrating third-party email accounts, or viewing email attachments during the maintenance.

Wireless service providers and device resellers may be unable to use BlackBerry administration web sites or perform activities such as creating subscriber accounts or provisioning services for subscribers during the maintenance.

All this means HTML email viewing and more, but the catch is you need to have OS 4.5 software on your BlackBerry, which technically isn't out yet (in the usa), but if you want it bad, then it can be found here

Unfortunately I cannot do this yet as 4.5 has not been released yet for Verizon. So do not try this on a Verizon BB as you might brick it.

One more thing, whenever I do an OS upgrade on my hand held I like to edit the .alx file so that all vendor themes are available. If you are interested in doing that here is how to do that.

Great info Paulmac, I have the new 4.5 on my curve and its awesome. Like paulmac said, it's currently only available to GSM models.

Yeah, everything I have read about it says it is. I check every couple of days to see if Verizon has released it yet. They will and when they do I will install it on my 8830.
