I just came back after spending a little over an hour at the at&t store. I was fortunate to work with a person who has the 8310 as his personal phone. We sat down and looked at all the programs that I have on my Treo that I actually use and unfortunately there is no easy way to do more than 75% of them on the BB. This coupled with the fact that I do not/cannot download E-Mail from our exchange server and the web browsing is limited as was mentioned, I decided to stick with my Treo for the time being.

I loved the size, weight & the crisp screen, but was a little disappointed in the number of steps necessary to go and edit a contact for example. It also seemed that the built quality of the 8310 was not as robust as that of the other BBs & in my biased opinion the built quality on my Treo is better.

The icing on the cake was when it took ages to load up "http://wap00.com" on the BB and that too it could not download the wireless advisor banner properly. .

I am glad I started this thread, I learnt a lot about BBs from all you BB users and fans. Thank you very much for all the help you have provided, I went into the store at least halfway educated about it.

PS: We talked about battery life and he charges his every 2-3 days. He said that if he had all the "junk" on his phone that I have on mine, it would only last about half that time.

You have to go with what suites you best. I can tell you that his browser was not set up correctly. For some reason, it seems that many of the reps that use a BB keep the unit with the way it comes from the factory. Lets hope when the new OS comes out, it will have much more functionality that could make it more viable. As to the durability of the 8310 I can tell you that it is a lot more durable than it feels. My neice has it and she is very hard on her cell dvices and she has already put it through all the possible torture tests and that thing still works with no issues at all.

Thanks Eric & hf1khal, there still may be a BB in my future but at this time I am waiting for the release of the Treo Drucker. Yes I know I don't belong in Blackberry Forum.

Thanks Jay, now all you have to do is get rid of the sliding keyboard, put a QWERTY keyboard on the phone itself. make it smaller and lighter by 25% and I will be running out to get it immediately.

That's what my old iPAQ had (Which by the way, HTC made the old series of iPAQ's for HP). I hated the keyboard because of my large hands would hit multiple keys at the same time. I think another reason I like this so much, as I am a big fan of flip phones as the keyboard is protected when not in use, so you don't get calls being accidentally placed.

Have 8310 on Verizon. I'm very impressed with this phone. Have owned a good number of phones over the years. This phone seems to be very stable and has good support. If you like a phone that freeses then you know what to buy!...lol
