keyboard questions for Pearl owners

I tried a Pearl in the VZW store and generally like the SureType, but I wanted to know:

1. Do you tend to type only until you see your word in the list, then scroll up and enter it?
2. Do you use your thumb(s) to type? If so, do you have any problem avoiding the surrounding keys?

I don't know if my responses are too late or not, but I've got the 8130 x 1 month now so:

1. Only if it's a long word that I don't want to complete and the BB has already got it at the top spot. Then it's only 1 tap on the trackball to enter the remaining letters.

2. I have long nails, so sometimes my nails ht the wrong key, but it's not common, so I don't fret about it.

I had a pearl for a while, but I found I did not like sure type or the keyboard. Not that it did not work, in fact it worked quite well. I had gone from an older model BB to the Pearl, and I found I was just to use to the full qwerty keyboard. So first chance I got I got rid of the pearl for an 8800 series, to get back to a full qwerty keyboard.

And regarding thumbs, using the full qwerty keyboard I will occasionally hit the wrong key but very rarely. Believe it or not, the keyboards on a black berry are very easy to use, and have a good feel, so even though the keys look close together they work well.

And RIM has nice things built into the keyboard, like holding down a key will cause it to go from lower to upper case, saving you from looking for a "caps" key to capitalize a letter. Also words like won't, don't etc. you do not have to put in the ' just put in the letters and hit the space key, the BB will put in the ' for you. And there are more things like automatically capitalize the first letter of a new sentence, automatically capitalize I. The keyboards and it's features is what makes the BB a great e-mail and messaging device

I use my thumbs. I do both.... scroll or type the entire word. I never thought I could get the hand of it, but it seems like second nature now.
