Hi, Has anyone used the data cable? Does it allow you to upload all the pictures onto the computer? Also, it woudl probably be good to back up my number and other things. Can someone please tell me about these cables, and maybe a good place to pick one up. Thanks for your time. |

Sorry, I guess that was a fairly lame post. I feel overwhelmed here since I am not a techno dude, and made it worst by saying that. I have an audiovox cdm8900 phone, with verizon wireless service in San Diego Cali. Ill check out that website. Does the cable work well to take pictures off these camera phones? There are pics I want to save on my phone but dont want to send pic messages from my phone to email account and waste my messages. thanks |

The website will let you know if FutureDIal's SnapMedia program can remove the pics from the phone. You may also want to do a serach for "BitPim" on google and go to that website. It's a free program and it may also allow you to download the pictures from your phone.

Most CDMA phones with Qualcomm based chipsets. Do not use Audiovox CDM8900 phones with BitPim. Their internal software is very fragile and they can easily be rendered inoperable, as happened to the one loaned to us by RPI Wireless. THis is a quote from the bitpim website??? Is there a mistake? THanks for the help. |

Yea, sorry again about my first lame post... I know how frustrating internet rookies are.. Just had a brain fart. Anyways, Like I mentioned I just want to use this cable to take pics off my camera. I went to Futuredial.com and found the cord. Its 30$ for the USB cord.. Does this seem about right? Seems a little pricey for a USB cable?? Does anyone know if those ones off Ebay work fine?? Thanks again |

I know if you go buy the FutureDial software in a RadioShack store you get the data cable for free. The website may offer the same deal. The cables cost abour $23 in a Radio Shack store. If all you need is the cable though, try eBay. You can probably save five to ten bucks, but it will be most likely be about a week before you get the cable.

You will also need a driver for the phone and some sort of software program that will allow for your to transfer files between the phone and the computer. Try a search for BitPim, as it is free, but can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. The futuredial site should also list which of their software products are compatible with your 8900.
