I wouldn't count on any further Toshiba phones through UTStarcomm/Audiovox. As part of selling the wireless division, Audiovox bought out Toshiba's stake in the company. It's my theory that is why the 9900 was pulled so quickly. They just wanted to get rid of the remaining Toshiba made product they had in stock. The Audiovox name will probably be the next thing to go.

Agreed. The 9500 was a bit quirky, but a very good phone. The 9900 has its quirks, but the signal retention is by far better than any other phone I have had, including the LG. My perspective may be a bit skewed. Any phone that I can use in my home (0-1 bars) and not drop a call is AWESOME! The 9900 has never dropped a call in my home or anywhere else. What the Toshiba's lack in style they make up for in functionality. Quote:

The best Audiovox phones came from Toshiba. I will agree with that. I could not understand why the 9900 went bye bye so fast. I did totaly believe with the phone was made overseas a year before the 9900 came out so it was time to discontinue it. We will see if UTStarcom can build a good phones in 2006. I think they are blowing it, but I could be wrong on this.

Well I'll be glad to see the Hyundai phones go... those things were horrible. They honestly made me HATE Audiovox phones. I did try the 9950 for Sprint, and I liked it. I guess Toshiba is a good manufacturer... but I never owned one.
