Default 9900 bluetooth
is Bluetooth disabled by Verizon or just the ability to download ringtones?
Can it still be used with a laptop or Palm or other Bluetooth device to connect?

The CDM9900 does not have bluetooth capabilities built-in. You can add a bluetooth headset with the phone adapter, but won't be able to transfer files, etc.
