Hello, I have a brand-new Audiovox 8910 with a brand-new battery. When I am at work, I have noticed that my reception is very weak. I am constantly fading in and out from "no service" to a very weak signal. On the days that I am at the office, my battery runs down quite quickly...in less than 24 hours. However, when I am at home on the weekends (and talking more on the phone) the battery holds a charge very well. I'm convinced that the constant search for a signal is draining my battery. Is there any truth to this? Does anyone have any suggestions for changing the phone settings to alleviate this problem? Is it possible to influence when the phone goes into "power save" mode, and when the phone polls for service? thanks, Brian |

Yes, Brian, you are correct a weak signal will drain the battery faster than using the phone with a strong signal. I cannot think of any suggestion to alleviate the problem, but their are others in this forum with more knowledge than me and I am sure someone will log on shortly and help you.

The way I dealt with this problem when I had it was to leave my phone plugged into the travel charger for the last hour of the day. Not too much else you can do.

If your phone is not usable with that weak of a signal, then keep it turned off most of the time. Otherwise, get yourself a cheap travel charger and keep the phone plugged in while you are at work.
