flashlight and tone questions on 9900

So far, there are two things I haven't been able to figure out or gleam from the manual:

1. How do you use the phone as a flashlight?
2. How do you turn off the tones the phone makes when powering on or off. So far the only way I've found is to put the phone into silent ring mode before doing it. There probably is a simpler way in the menus but I haven't found it.

Oops, I see #2 has already been asked by someone else - well at least I'm not the only one who can't figure it out - looks like there may not be a menu setting, that would be unusual.

For the flash, Camera - Options- Flash- Always On. When you end the session it reverts to the default off setting.

There is no way on the phone to silence the on off tone other than the way you mentioned.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I had seen a reference somewhere that you could turn the light on without accessing the camera functions, but I haven't been able to find it.
