I just got the 9900 and wonder how to send myself pictures to set my wallpaper. I had the LG6000 and knew what size to make it, etc. I tried to send myself a *.jpg file but got the message on the 9900 that this file type is not supported. I wonder if we could start a thread to explain in detail what type of file and the dimensions of the file to send to the 9900 that can be uses as wallpaper. Thanks for any help you can give. MIF. |

First off... the screen size is 240x320 (240 wide x 320 high). That covers the entire screen. Other users have calculated out the dimensions with different idle screen settings (large digital, small digital, etc.) in order to have an unobstructed wallpaper view, but since I don't do that with my walls, I don't know the dimensions. There are two ways to get wallpapers to your phone... the first is via the vzwpix.com website, BUT DON'T DO THIS!!! If you're uploading pics that are already sized to your screen, the website will cut the resolution in half to 120x160, and the pics will be pixelated and awful. Secondly, and the best way, is to e-mail the pics to yourself via a regular e-mail client (outlook express, outlook, netscape messenger, etc.) to 1234567890@vzwpix.com (where the numbers are your 10-digit phone number). This will preserve the resolution and all will be fine. On that note, the vzwpix.com server has been on again, off again for a couple of weeks for upgrades and system repair... so an e-mail/pix message may not be received for a while. I sent one last night that I still haven't received, and yesterday morning, I received a few that I sent two days prior. Just wait, and they will come. Once your phone receives the message, view the message, hit the right soft key for "options", scroll down to save, and choose picture. The image will be saved in your image folder under media center (menu --> option 6). It will be renamed to ar##, but you can rename it by highlighting the image, hitting the right soft key for "options" again, then scrolling down and choosing rename. This ends my CDM9900 wallpaper tutorial. Here are a few that I currently use on my phone...

Thanks BUmmedic, I just needed to know the size, I do everything else the way you said. Where do you get your wallpapers from and what do you use to adjust the size? MIF. |
